Inspired by a Legacy of Learning
Project Uplift was born from a deep admiration for the life and work of Elizabeth Haughton, a trailblazing educator whose unwavering belief in every child’s potential continues to guide our mission.
Elizabeth wasn’t just a teacher. She was a builder of futures. As founder of the Haughton Learning Center and a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Standard Celeration Society, her impact spanned thousands of students, families, and fellow educators across the globe. Her fluency-based learning tools and precision teaching methods continue to shape how struggling readers are supported and uplifted.
But for those who knew her, Elizabeth’s greatest legacy wasn’t in the awards she earned. It was in the lives she transformed. She had a way of sprinkling love like fairy dust, celebrating every small victory, and helping children once lost in silence find their voice and confidence through learning.
One of those children grew up to found Project Uplift. Elizabeth’s patience, her optimism, and her mantra, “Teach with love”, became the roots of this program. She inspired a lifelong purpose.
Project Uplift is dedicated to carrying that love forward. Every lesson we teach, every child we support, every educator we train is part of Elizabeth’s legacy – one that continues to grow, one joyful reader at a time.
