"I am thankful for the opportunity to have been a participant in this course for the past two years. I loved the information on ‘scope and sequence’ and the videos which helped me to re-structure my lesson planning. Taking this teacher learning course has had a profound impact on both my students and myself as an educator. Through the course, I gained new instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, and a deeper understanding of multi-sensory learning. These insights have helped me create more engaging, inclusive, and student-centered lessons that better support individual learning needs. As a result, my students have become more motivated, confident, and active participants in their learning. For me personally, the course reignited my passion for teaching, enhanced my confidence in trying new approaches, and encouraged ongoing reflection and growth in my practice. Overall, the experience has strengthened my ability to foster a positive, dynamic, and effective learning environment."

"I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to take part in the Project Uplift Course. The guidance and encouragement I received throughout were truly invaluable. The theory and knowledge I gained have made such a difference in how I understand and support students with dyslexia. What stood out most for me was the practical aspect of the course. Having the chance to work directly with a student while receiving ongoing support helped me to feel confident and capable. The feedback I received was thoughtful and incredibly helpful—it guided me in finding the best ways to meet my student’s individual needs. This course has not only strengthened my teaching skills but also deepened my passion for helping students with dyslexia reach their full potential. I am genuinely grateful for the experience and all that I’ve learned along the way."

"I am a primary school teacher with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Care and Education. Teaching has always been my passion, and I have always tried my best to give my students what they need. But before starting Project Uplift, I didn’t realize there were gaps in what I had been taught. Growing up, I learned to read through memorizing words. I knew that c-i-t-y spells city, but I never understood why. I didn’t know that when c comes before e, i, or y, it makes the /s/ sound. There were so many rules and patterns that I had never been taught. I could read the words I had seen before, but when I came across something new, I didn’t always have the tools to break it apart and understand it. Project Uplift changed that for me. It opened my eyes to the structure behind reading, the logic, the patterns, the reasons words work the way they do. I finally understood what I had been missing all along: I was taught to memorize, not to truly read. And once I saw it, I couldn’t unsee it. Suddenly, everything made sense. After completing the program, I started tutoring a child from my neighborhood. I used the structured literacy approach I had learned, and to my amazement, she began to progress quickly. When her mother saw the change, she started telling others, and soon more children came. That was the beginning of my reading program, Phonics Detectives. Today, I have 11 students between the ages of 4 and 9, and I get to watch them grow in confidence and ability, something I once wished I had earlier in my own learning journey. I truly believe structured literacy is not just another teaching method, it is a lifeline, especially in a time when literacy rates are falling and so many children are struggling. It provides clear, meaningful tools that empower all learners, including those with dyslexia, to not only read, but to understand. This program didn’t just change how I teach. It changed how I see reading. And it has allowed me to change lives, starting with my own."
